COLUMBUS CIRCLE, Manhattan (WABC) -- The NYPD is searching for two suspects wanted in a brutal assault and robbery at the Columbus Circle subway station over the weekend.

Authorities say two men knocked a 25-year-old man to the ground around 5 a.m. Sunday, then punched, kicked and robbed him.

As if taken down and assaulted wasn't enough, police said the victim was also beaten with brass knuckles.

The man was waiting on the southbound A platform when police say he was approached by the suspects, who jumped him unprovoked.

Surveillance video showed one suspect twisting an item out of the victim's hand. Investigators say they stole $350 in cash, a watch, a bracelet and his wallet.

There was a visible NYPD presence throughout the station Monday, as police look to identify both suspects. They are both described as being about 5-foot-9, with one wearing a gray hoodie and the other a gray T-shirt and black undershirt.

The suspects then fled on the southbound A Train.

The victim was treated for bruising and cuts to his face.
