Police: Teen sought in 11-year-old Bronx shooting death also wanted for 2 robberies
LONGWOOD, The Bronx -- For Yahisha Gomez, comfort is difficult to find.
The pain is piercing to know that her 11-year-old daughter, Kyhara was another victim of gun violence.
"The worst phone call I have ever received," Gomez said, "I still hear it."
Kyhara was hit with a bullet on Monday afternoon. She died shortly later - her father, Sopini Tay, is also trying to keep strong.
Police say the gunman was a 15-year-old on a scooter with an accomplice identified as Omar Bojang. The pair were chasing someone on Fox Street in Longwood, when the gun was fired, hitting Kyhara in thte stomach.
The 15-year-old was caught, and Bojang is still on the run.
Police are saying he was involved in two robberies back in April. Gomez wants him behind bars.
"He thought he was a man when he was in on the robberies, he thought he was a man when he was on the scooter - now be a man and do your time," Gomez said.
And for that 15-year-old, Gomez has some strong words.
"His name is killer to me. His age is killer to me - I don't see him as a 15-year-old, nothing, not even a human being. He's a killer," she said.
Police say the 15-year-old is the one who fired the gun. He has now been charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
