Mets fans buzzing over the NLCS on social media

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The National League pennant has yet to be decided as the Mets square off against the Cubs, but Mets fans already are number one in one off-the-field category: interacting on social media.

According to Klear, a social media analytics site based in Israel, Mets fans are the most engaged social online fans in baseball, based on total reach and mentions across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Klear found that based on a sample between July 14 and August 13 this past season, Mets fans generated more posts on those platforms than those of any other team in baseball, with over 760,000.

According to a study published in Forbes Magazine, Mets fans generated over 3 billion impressions during the time period analyzed.

Many Mets fans follow every pitch and interact with each other with the hashtag #MetsTwitter.

The team itself has an online gathering spot for fans, with its Social Media Clubhouse.

Even Mr. Met has his own Twitter account:
