State Police sergeant helps deliver baby
Sgt. Sean Boag was on the Garden State Parkway when he heard on his radio that a woman was going into labor on the side of the highway.

RED BANK (WABC) -- The day was far from over for a New Jersey State Police sergeant on his way home from work - he helped with an unexpected delivery.

Two expecting Lakewood parents were on their way to a hospital in New Brunswick. The parents pulled over on the Garden State Parkway near Red Bank on Friday.

Turns out - the baby girl could not wait to be born! Seargent Sean Boag heard a dispatcher requesting assistance, and he was able to arrive within minutes.

Sergeant Boag says this was his first time delivering a baby himself, but he does have some experience, because he has three children.

The baby girl and her mother are doing just fine.
